I’m baaack! Holy moly, two posts in like one week, how does that happen?! I’ll tell you how it happens: it happens because I have school work I should be doing and I don’t wanna. DON’T PROCRASTINATE KIDS! Anyway, on to with the show (it’s gonna get sappy kids. You have been warned).
Last night, I took part in the final Red Zone meeting for the school year. At said meeting, I had the high honour of being elected to the position of VP Social Media along with my new partner Eiman. I am BEYOND excited and humbled; it means so much to me that my fellow crazy people thought I would do a good enough job to actually give me a position.
I joined Red Zone last year and let me just say that it was probably one of the best decisions I have made in my entire university career. I have found my place on campus, I have made new friends, and I have come out of my shell. I am still super duper awkward and weird, but Red Zone doesn’t care. I have been welcomed and encouraged throughout the last two years in the organization, and I honestly don’t know what I would do without the outlet. Screaming at sporting events is incredibly cathartic, who knew?!
I want to immortalize in words my immense gratitude to the outgoing Execs – Tessa, Sam, and Erika – and the graduating senior members – there’s (sadly) too many of you to mention, and the new HBC – Alli – for making me feel like I’ve found a home on campus.
I cannot wait to get started and continue building the legacy of Red Zone and making it a home for other awkward weirdos who like to scream at people and jump around.
Thank you all so much. #FlockOn
